Thank you for visiting ! We are proud to annonce that November 26 2019, we were awarded Reader's Choice Platinum Award for 2019 Peterborough Examiner. Thank you to all who helped make this happen. We wish everyone a safe & Happy holiday season. We have been instructing since 2005 & have helped thousands of people become safer drivers. Learning the proper strategies to make driving safe & enjoyable is a rewarding accomplishment. It's why they enjoy helping others achieve this important goal. We are a MTO approved BDE Program Provider and our curriculum has been used by over 100,000 people overall. This can mean a reduction in insurance as well as wait time before taking your road test. A big thanks to Bill at Jetala and all the folks at Canadian Pro Drivers. It's great working with you all. We are also certified as a Auto$mart provider. This is a Federal government program promoting fuel efficiency & the environmental impact of driving. We are a certified Green business by the local Chamber of Commerce & Peterborough Green Up. Each student will be provided with one of our Workbooks. Please note that students may take the program before obtaining their G1. They must obtain it within 30 days of completing the In class portion. This is a very useful way of ensuring the G1 test is successful. It also enables an early start to obtaining all the driving habits needed to obtain a G2.
All In Car lessons are 1 on 1 with free pick-up & drop off in city limits. Peterborough Driving School stresses the need for practice. A good rule of thumb is that for every hour of In Car Training there should be 2-3 hours of practice. We are happy to discuss students progress with parents as we feel they are an important part of the learning process. Students must achieve a mark of 70 % on 2 In Class Tests as well as 1 Mock Road Test on the final In Car lesson. MTO regulations require that students complete the program within 1 year of their start date.
We also offer individual lessons for those interested. This includes more experienced drivers who are facing a Road Test for health, age or other reasons. Peterborough Driving School worked along with Karren Bowen & Roly Hurley at Peterborough Driver Rehab to assist drivers who face challenges caused by disability or the aging process. Karren & Roly successfully ran their business for over 13 years before retiring in May 2014. We were thrilled to work with them. We now work with SE Health to service these clients. At Peterborough Driving School we believe each person needs to be treated as an individual. Yes there are guidelines and tests to be passed. However how we get there can vary. We are proud to say we have many satisfied students & parents. See our Testimonials page. We are also proud to have worked with many businesses to ensure their employees are updated on how to be safe in today's driving environment.

Hopefully this makes sense & is based on feedback from all the sources available in todays world. We simply promise to do our best to help anyone interested. This includes offering a price we feel is fair based on the services we provide & the help we receive from local business to make this happen. Also keep in mind that industry specialists report that to properly run a driving school an average price would be in the $700 range. Special thanks to Comfort Inn 1209 Lansdowne St. W. We are proud to introduce Katy, born May 20 2019. We all look forward to continuing to help keep Peterborough & area safe & prosperous.
